I learned very quickly from Katrina that weddings are in the “details.”  Katrina excels at the details.  When Zack and I came to Katrina, we had accomplished a few of the big items – venue, photographer, etc.  However, we had no overarching plan for design or direction to take the wedding that would symbolize our personalities (yes, city girl and country boy).  Katrina knocked our socks off just weeks after hiring her with a design board that would become the focal point of our wedding.  That same design board was shared with all of our vendors so that everyone could share a unified vision.  Looking back, our wedding without a killer design would have been just ordinary, like any other wedding you see these days.  The pop of orange you see highlighting our wedding, the three cakes, the shades of grey…all came from our design board.

 Along the way, I learned to trust Katrina.  By allowing her to help guide us in making decisions and trusting her as a professional, our wedding became much less of a stressor and much more of a fun, interactive process.  The linens you see in our photos almost didn’t happen.  They were the result of Katrina encouraging us to think outside the box and not do something that was “currently in,” but to instead pick something modern and fresh.  It was one of the best decisions we made and one that we receive some of the most praise over.

 Katrina became so much more than a wedding planner.  I now see her as a life-long friend.   A friend that made the best day of our lives absolutely amazing.  A friend that spent a year discussing the “itty-bitty” details that were probably way out of her job description. Katrina, Zack and I will be forever grateful to you.  You will be at the top of our Christmas list for years to come.  Love, Rachel and Zack.
